ABILENE, TX (KTAB/KRBC) – An Abilene Ford dealership will lend an F-150 or two with on-board generators to help power homes and businesses that have lost power.
The Ford Motor Company sent a letter to Texas dealerships Thursday saying they want to help communities in the state that experienced power outages due to the winter storm.
Arrow Ford tells BigCountryHomepage.com that they will have one or two of the vans to help some of the residents and/or businesses in Abilene who are still without power.
The dealership claims that one of its employees used it to provide power when its power went out.
General Manager of Marketing, Sales and Service for the Central Market area, Tim Witt, wrote the following in the letter to dealers:
First, and most importantly, I hope you, your employees, and your families are all safe during the unprecedented weather events of the past week. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
This morning, there are still hundreds of thousands of Texans without electricity. I’ve seen stories of families lining up at shelters and sleeping in vehicles just to stay warm. I can’t imagine what they must be going through.
One way to help your community is to provide the use of a new 2021 F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid or F-150s equipped with the ProPower Onboard (option 472 or 477). Currently we have over 400 of these F150s in stock in Texas.
