Beverly Callard will make an acting comeback in her first job since leaving Coronation Street.

The actress, who played Rovers icon Liz McDonald for three decades, has not been seen on the ITV soap for two years.

The 64-year-old appeared on ITV late last year alongside Jordan North.

Viewers saw the former soap star and Radio 1 DJ befriended after being whisked away to Wales for the first-ever series of the ITV UK reality show.

Beverley and Jordan, 31, then filmed a series of trips together for ITV, Beverley & Jordan: Destination Wedding sees the couple head to Spain, which has seen them immerse themselves in the local culture, while also planning a very special day at the end of the series.

Now Bev has revealed that she will be appearing in the new ITV series, Newark, Newark.

It is currently filming in Nottingham and also stars Gavin & Stacey’s Mat Horne, actress Morgana and Misfits actress Lauren Socha.

Taking to Instagram, Bev shared a series of behind-the-scenes snaps and wrote, “Another day of Newark Newark shooting @nathan_foad.”

The first snap showed the glamorous actress, rocking blue eyeshadow and red lipstick as the cameramen stared back at her.

A series of selfies then followed with Morgana and Saskia Chana.
