Director and co-writer, York-Fabian Raabe and his lead actor/co-writer, Eugene Boateng arrived in Accra on Monday evening June 20th.
They were received at Kotoka International Airport by Ghanaian cast and crew who also worked on the production.
Yorke and Eugene at the virtual press conference held earlier this month had expressed excitement about their plans to return to Ghana to show the film to the public for the first time.
The two worked with Ghanaian cast and crew to shoot the film in 2018.
“Borga” is produced by German production companies Chromosom Film and East End Film as well as Ghanaian/British production company TD Afrique.
They (York-Fabian Raabe and Eugene Boateng) are expected to join other cast members in embarking on press tours in the week leading up to the Friday premiere.
Last year, German-Ghanaian migrant drama “BORGA” at the Ghana Movie Awards won 8 awards out of its record 18 nominations. It has also screened at several international film festivals around the world.
The film seeks to clarify the claim that all migrants lead prosperous and rich lives abroad. The details of the life of a Ghanaian migrant who wants to succeed in Germany.
But the reality is not what he wants to accept or show his family back home.
Like the story it tells, it’s only fitting that the film returns home after conquering the world.
BORGA will be in theaters on Friday 24e June at Silverbird Cinemas at 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.. Tickets sell for GHs50.
