End of Peaky Blinders: will Tommy Shelby die? | Television and radio | Show biz & TV

Peaky Blinders followed the rise of Tommy Shelby (played by Cillian Murphy) and the rest of the Shelby family during the early years of the 20e century. It has been a painful journey through the five seasons, its path marked in violence and loss. But speculation has already started that Tommy could reach his end in season six of the BBC hit drama.

Will Tommy Shelby die in Peaky Blinders season 6?

Season five didn’t exactly go as planned for Tommy Shelby, especially when it comes to the attempted assassination of Oswald Mosley (Sam Claflin).

The generally cool and collected Tommy faced complete failure in the season finale, and he didn’t take it well.

After coming up with another plan that should have gone off without a hitch, things quickly turned south.

Mosley ran away and Tommy had been betrayed, but for the first time, he had no idea who had done it or why.

The final shot of the season saw Tommy back home, walking his field alone, holding a gun to his head, screaming in frustration.

The stakes have continued to rise since the first season, transforming Tommy from a typical gang boss to a full-fledged politician dealing with crime lords and international espionage.

However, Tommy hasn’t been the same since Grace (Annabelle Wallis) died in season three, with his memory still clouding his mind.

That won’t change in season six either, with Wallis confirming that she will return to haunt Tommy once again.

However, the question of who betrayed him remains, with some fans theorizing that anyone from Ada Shelby (Sophie Rundle) to Alfie Solomons (Tom Hardy) could be behind.

Currently there is very little evidence pointing to anyone in particular which means anything is possible in the final season.

Mosley is known to return, likely continuing to play the antagonistic role he played in season five.

Sadly, an actor eclipsed the sixth season after his tragic death, Helen McCrory who played Polly Gray.

It has not been revealed if the late star filmed any scenes before her death or how the series will explain her absence.

As of now, the BBC has yet to reveal a release date for the sixth season, despite filming ending in July.

Now that the series is in post-production, it is slated for release later this year, 2021.

Tommy’s fate will be revealed in season six, all signed indicating a potentially sticky end for the beloved crime boss.
