Fatal hit and run at Browns Plains in Logan was road rage, police say

Queensland Police are looking for a 20-year-old man who they say was involved in a “road rage” incident which is being treated as homicide.

The hit-and-run incident killed a 25-year-old man south of Brisbane yesterday afternoon.

Detective Paul Dalton’s acting superintendent said the two-car incident started in Everton Hills and ended on Wembley Road in Browns Plains around 3:00 p.m., where the 25-year-old was struck and killed.

“The first police investigations quickly led us to move this case into a homicide investigation and an investigation center has been established at Logan Police Station and is managed by detectives from Logan CIB and the Investigation Group. on homicides, ”he said.

Early investigations suggested the men did not know each other, he said.

“It appears that these two vehicles and the occupants have been interacting for half an hour.”

Acting Superintendent Dalton said the alleged 20-year-old’s hatchback Audi was found at a Marsden address and forensic examinations were underway.

Police are still trying to locate the man, who has ties to south Brisbane and the Logan area.

“It’s not going to go away, it’s a very serious business.

“Show a little conscience and a little heart, turn to the police, and you will be treated fairly,” Acting Superintendent Dalton said.

He said the incident would affect everyone involved, including witnesses.

“It will have an impact on them for the rest of their lives.”

Acting Superintendent Dalton called on people to keep their cool while driving on Queensland roads.

“If you get cranky in a car, breathe – think about it, relax, drive the other way around, we’ll just act like a reasonable and patient person because we can go from someone getting cut… to someone. ‘one who dies and a homicide is investigating,’ he said.

He urged anyone with information relating to the incident to come forward.

“We’re particularly interested if anyone has CCTV footage of the incident or all of the events leading up to it.”
