At the age of 21, when Neetu was at the height of her career, she married then-superstar Rishi Kapoor and mostly took a break from her acting career, although she appeared in a few films. later.

Now, at the age of 63, the veteran actress will be seen in the multi-star Bollywood film ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’.

Speaking to IANS, Neetu said: “You see, when I started acting, I didn’t even know what I was doing; as a kid, your life wasn’t in your hands.

“It was a situation where I was working as a child artist to support my family. By the time I grew into a teenager, I felt extremely comfortable in front of the camera and acting was part of it. of everyday life. I was going honestly. Then I married the man I loved and was the happiest with my family and children.

She made her comeback in 2010 with the movie ‘Do Dooni Chaar’ alongside her husband Rishi Kapoor.

“Movie offers kept coming and I kept turning it down. In the meantime, I made a few special appearances, only because my husband said to me, ‘chal na, ye karte hai, kaam karke maza ayega’. He was also my best friend.” Neetu recalled with a smile.

Speaking about one of those ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ films, the veteran actress said, “It was a special appearance where I played Katrina Kaif’s on-screen mother.

“Technically speaking, if we follow the context, my character Pooja was negative. She left her daughter and her family for her lover. But Adi (Aditya Chopra, producer of the film) sat me down and explained to me that he wanted to play a couple who would look ‘in love’ even in middle age, which is why he decided to team up with Chintuji (Rishi Kapoor) and me.”

“Now I’m an actress by choice. Now acting is part of my healing process.”

“It’s heartbreaking to lose a partner of 45 years, with whom I grew up and lived my life. But also, I want to wake up to hope, to a new day, I’m looking forward to something. This movie ‘Jug Jug Jeeyo’ was exactly that for me,” said the Bollywood superstar’s mother, Ranbir Kapoor.
