How My Parents Reacted To My Showbiz Career – Lami Bankz
Nigerian show promoter, showbiz photographer and talent manager Ogundeji Olamide Raphael, popularly known as Lami Bankz, reflected on his parents’ reaction to his showbiz career when he started.
The talent manager who studied mechanical engineering at Olabisi Onabanjo Ogun State University said he started managing his first artist when he was at level 100 in college and using his spare time to go to shows.
According to Bankz, his parents weren’t happy with his move at first, but then gave him a chance and they are proud of him now.
He said: âAt first they didn’t feel comfortable because I studied engineering as a course, but later they gave me the privilege of doubting, and today they are proud to have given me the chance to go for what I wanted.
âI’ve always loved showbiz, but my dad wanted me to study engineering, but when I entered college I used my free time to go to shows and started managing my first artist when I was at level 100.
âThen when I graduated I realized I had to move to Lagos, where the spotlight is,â he added.
Lami Bankz also advised upcoming artists and other key players in the entertainment space to keep contributing their quotas because the world is watching them.
âThey should keep working hard, the world is watching them, they should stay focused and not flinch and their time will definitely come,â he said.
