Irish comedian Ed Byrne paid tribute to his brother Paul (45) after his untimely death

Taking to Twitter, Ed shared a photo of them with fellow comedian Glenn Wool.

“Paul Byrne was many things to many people,” his tribute began.

“A talented comedy maker and stand-up fixer, he was loved by so many.”

“But to me he was my sore little brother and I will miss him so much. RIP Paul Byrne 1977-2022.

The award-winning director has worked in comedy on TV, radio and on stage.

Tributes for the Dubliner poured in from the comedy community following the tragic news.

“Oh Ed, I’m so sorry. Paul was always so kind to me when I started. I will always think of him with great fondness – sending so much love to you and your family,” said Ellie Taylor.

Catherine Bohart added: “Ed, I am so sorry for your loss. Paul made everyone around him feel higher in their self-esteem. We will miss him so much x”

“Oh man. This is really awful. I’m so sorry, Ed. Sending you love,” Chris Addison said.

“Ah ed. Like all comics, I loved hanging out with your brother. Taken for granted would do it again. He was so in the moment, had the best conversation, a lovely, funny man. My love and deepest condolences to you and your family xxx,” Shaparak Khorsandi shared.

“Sending so much love to you and the family. Devastated to hear the news,” Tiernan Douieb wrote.

Sara Millican also shared her condolences: “So sorry for your loss.”

While Matt Green added: “I send you and your family lots of love and condolences Ed. Paul was so much fun and loved by so many in the comedy world. He means a lot to us. to lack.
