Philip John Clapp, better known as Johhny Knoxville, is an American stuntman, actor, comedian and filmmaker. Knoxville is best known for creating and starring in 3 seasons of the MTV reality show: Jackass, which aired from 2000 to 2002. He also starred in other films like Men in Black II, A Dirty Shame, The Dukes of Hazzard and in cameo roles in Last Stand and Skiptrace. In fact, he also voiced in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as Leonardo. His Jackass films, first released in 2002, are back for two more episodes released in 2006 and 2010.

Johnny Knoxville was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, to Father Philip, a tire and car salesman, and Lemoyne Clapp, who taught Sunday School. He has two older siblings, two sisters. His interest in acting grew when his cousin, Roger Alan Wade, now singer-songwriter, offered him a copy of On the Road by Jack Kerouac. After graduating from high school, he moved to California in 1989.

Johnny Knoxville: Career

Knoxville began his acting career as an extra and appearing in commercials. He waited for the “big” breakup to come to him, but when he didn’t, he started trying to create one for himself. Knoxville made a self-defense equipment test video of himself, which sparked the interest of Big Brother magazine. Her stunts were then filmed and included in Big Brother magazine’s video number two.

Subsequently, Big Brother and Johnny Knoxville’s Jeff Tremaine pitched an idea to filmmaker Spike Jonze, and Jackass was thus born. Johnny is the idea leader of his Jackass team, and others often see him as a leader. The show is directed by Jeff Tremaine. Along with his Jackass co-stars Chris Pontius, Steve-O and director Jeff Tremaine, and producer Elyashkevich, Johnny took part in Gumball 3000.

Johnny’s career in film and television:

He is best known for his role in Jay Chandrasekhar’s The Dukes of Hazzard, where he played in a role opposite to Seann William Scott. He has appeared in all the films of the Jackass franchise: Jackass: The Movie; Jackass number two and Jackass 3D. In Men in Black II, he had the role of a two-headed alien. He walked as a supporting character in the film Walking Tall, which also starred The Rock. Johnny also starred in the film Daltry Coulhaun, The Ringer and Lords of Dogtown.

He starred in season 3 of Viva La Bam titled Prank Wars. In this episode, he and Ryan Dunn played a prank on Bam Margera by destroying the latter’s Hummer, among other things. He also made an appearance on Family Guy and co-produced the Dudesons. In 2010, he directed the three-part series Detroit Lives, which he directed for Palladium Boots. The videos were about the reemergence of the creativity wave in Detroit. He also voiced in a 2012 episode of the popular cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants. In the movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, he voiced Leonardo in 2014, but his voice was not used in the sequel.

Johnny Knoxville: personal life

He has a daughter Madison (born 1996), from his first marriage to Melanie Lynn Cates, which ended in 2008. Then, in 2009, his girlfriend Naomi Nelson gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Naomi and Johnny got married on September 24, 2010 and gave birth to a daughter in October 2011.
