KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 – Iconic singer and actress Anita Sarawak has reappeared to put an end to rumors and speculation that she has been “disappearing” since 2011.
The singer, famous for hits such as Seksis and Asmarareached out to lyricist and former entertainment journalist Roslen Fadzil and cleared up rumors about her and her husband, Mahathir Abdullah.
Roslen said she denied rumors that she was sick and insisted she was not divorced from her husband.
“Our conversation was short and I also didn’t ask too many questions as I wanted to respect Anita’s privacy.
“What I can tell you is that the story that people tell about Anita as being sick, dead and divorced is not true.
“When she called me she was with her husband,” he said, adding that Anita was sad when she heard the rumors of his death.
Roslen said that although they had been out of touch for a long time, her conversation with the 70-year-old singer was still the same as before.
His chance to speak with Anita happened earlier this month.
“Anita’s voice is still the same as before. She’s as happy as I knew her back then.
“Anita doesn’t sing anymore these days and has become a full-time housewife. She devotes a lot of time to her favorite activities like gardening at home.”
Roslen said he wasn’t sure where the couple currently lives as they like to travel.
Anita and her husband traveled to the United States in 2011 and are said to have emigrated.
They have lived in Las Vegas for twelve years and have gone undetected by the media since.
