Stand Up to Cancer rallies support from Killing Eve actress and Hollywood star for poignant film



A powerful short film with a stellar line-up came out with the message: “When we get up, we save lives”.

The film highlights the positive change that can be achieved when humanity stands up for what it believes in.

Stars featured include award-winning Hollywood actor David Oyelowo and Killing Eve actress Dame Harriet Walter. Paralympian Amy Conroy, actors Jason Watkins, Daniel Mays and Kadiff Kirwan complete the well-known line-up.

Famous faces appear alongside cancer patients, their loved ones and medical staff as they call on the nation to stand up against cancer. Many have been touched by cancer in their lifetime.

Oyelowo spoke about his personal connection to cancer, saying, “I stand against cancer in memory of my beloved father who sadly lost his life to colon cancer a year ago.

“I am proud to support the Stand Up To Cancer campaign which funds vital research that will save lives.”

Walter also spoke about how cancer has affected his life. “Cancer has been an unwanted presence throughout my life; I have lost loved ones in the past and I have loved ones who are currently in treatment. I stand up against cancer for all affected by this terrible disease and I urge you all to join me in supporting this incredibly important campaign. “

The Stand Up To Cancer campaign runs throughout October and will end with an awesome TV night on Channel 4 on Friday October 15th.
