Una Healy proudly revealed that she completed the Women’s Vhi Mini Marathon in under 45 minutes.
he singer and former member of The Saturdays had been training for weeks in preparation for the big event, which was taking place this morning.
Taking to Instagram this afternoon, she was filled with pride as she told her followers that she had never run a 10k race before, but managed to complete the course in just 44 minutes and 28 seconds.
Sharing her accomplishment with a selection of photos and videos from the event, Una said, âI just completed the Vhi Women’s 10K Virtual Mini-Marathon !!! @vhiwmm in a time of 44:28.
âI trained hard for weeks but it was my first 10k race, I had a goal in mind to do it in 44 minutes and I kept thinking ‘I don’t stop when I am tired … I stop when I ‘I’m done!’.
âMy little Tadhg encouraged me too. Well done to everyone who participated too!
Friends and followers flocked to the comments section to congratulate Una on her impressive achievement.
Fitness guru Niamh Cullen commented on a series of fiery and applause emojis and wrote: “Amazing !!!!!”
One fan said, “Great stuff Una, well done.”
Another rang: “Brilliant achievement, well done, great result.”
Una was announced as the Ambassador for the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon in June and kicked off the event at the Rock of Cashel in her hometown of Tipperary.
Speaking about fundraising at the time, the 39-year-old said, âThe Vhi Women’s Mini-Marathon is launched today and I am its ambassador. I am so excited to share the good news that we can all prepare now for September 19, the big day.
âIt’s a 10k mini-marathon, so don’t be too scared. But I think it’s so important for your health and also for raising money for the charity you have chosen.
“It’s great that this is still happening and has been going on for so many years now, so it’s good that the pandemic hasn’t stopped this,” she added.
