According to the actor’s nephew, Kaustubh Trivedi, the actor had been ill for a long time and breathed his last around 10 p.m. Tuesday at his residence here in the suburb of Kandivali.
Veteran actor Arvind Trivedi, best known for playing Raavan on the popular 1986 Mythology show Ramayan, died late on the evening of Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from a heart attack. It was in the early 80s.

According to the actor’s nephew, Kaustubh Trivedi, the actor had been ill for a long time and breathed his last around 10 p.m. at his residence here in the suburb of Kandivali.
“He had a lot of age-related health issues and was not doing well. He was in the hospital earlier and had only recently returned. He died of a heart attack at his home around 10 p.m. 10:30 p.m., “Kaustubh said.
His last rites were held Wednesday morning at Dahanukar Wadi cemetery in Kandivali.
The ‘Ramayenne’ fame
A host of celebrities, including his Ramayan co-stars took to social media and mourned the disappearance of Arvind Trivedi.
Actor Dipika Chikhalia, who tried out the role of Sita in Ramayan, wrote: “My sincere condolences to his family… a very good human being #arvindtrivedi #ravan.” Actor Sunil Lahri, seen as Lakshman in Ramayan, said he was deeply saddened by the news as he lost a dear friend and supporter.
“There is very sad news for all of us. Our beloved Arvind bhai (Ravan of Ramayan) is no longer with us. May his soul rest in peace.… I am speechless. I have lost a father figure. , my guide, benevolent & gentleman. ” Arvind Trivedi was also head of the Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC) from 2002 to 2003.
Current CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi also paid tribute to the late actor on Twitter.
“Saddened to hear of the death of the respectable Arvind ji. He was a good actor and he also spent a few years leading the #CBFC. Prayers. # ArvindTrivedi # arvindtrivedi,” Joshi wrote.
“It is sad to learn of the disappearance of famous actor of theater, television and cinema #ArvindTrivedi ji due to a massive heart attack. My sincere condolences to all his family and loved ones. Om Shanti,” said writes filmmaker Ashok Pandit.
Arvind Trivedi has appeared in nearly 300 films in Hindi and Gujarati and found immense popularity in the 1986 Ramanand Sagar television series. Ramayan.
The actor’s other works, including television series Vikram Aur Betaal (1985) and the Gujarati feature film of 1998 Desh Re Joya Dada Pardesh Joya, have also been tremendously successful. Besides his acting career, in 1991 Arvind Trivedi was elected MP for Sabarkatha constituency as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and was in office until 1996.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi regretted the death of actors Ghanashyam Nayak and Arvind Trivedi on Wednesday. Nayak was known for his role in a popular TV series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
Mr Modi tweeted: “In the last few days we have lost two talented actors who have captured people’s hearts with their works. Shri Ghanashyam Nayak will be remembered for his multifaceted roles, most notably on the popular show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.’ He was also extremely kind and humble.
