Artistic Director of the Collingwood Summer Music Festival Daniel Vnukowski will welcome the Summer Solstice Series during the month of June.

The four-part concert series will include:

June 16, 4 p.m.
Robert Burns Celebration with RH Thomson and Daniel Vnukowski – 100% of the funds go to support young actors facing difficulties due to the pandemic.

June 19, 12 p.m. PDT
A Schubert solo piano recital by Daniel Vnukowski.

June 23, 4 p.m. PDT
In Chopin’s Footsteps, a virtual chat with Dr. Alan Walker.

June 26, 12 p.m. PDT
M. Vnukowski in a solo piano recital by Chopin.

A highlight of the series is the third In Chopin’s Footsteps event, a 50-minute virtual discussion on Wednesday, June 23 at 4 p.m. PDT, featuring eminent musicologist Dr. Alan Walker. Mr Vnukowski and Dr Walker will follow in Chopin’s footsteps and cover important topics such as aesthetics, the Polish vernacular and interpretation as the end of the composition process.

Wednesday events are free, but require an RSVP and will be followed by a live Q&A that invites attendees to ask questions. Saturday events are $ 12 + tax.
