Brenda played the role of Velma Kelly opposite Usher in the hit musical Chicago. Prior to that, she appeared on Broadway in the musical review Smokey Joe’s Cafe, which earned her a Tony Award nomination in 1995, the NAACP Theater Award, the City of Chicago’s Jefferson Award, and a Grammy Award for Best Cast Album. .
