Why did Davina Potratz leave the Oppenheim group? | Television and radio | Show biz & TV

Davina Potratz has been one of the main stars of Selling Sunset since the first season, proving to be one of the bestsellers in the Oppenheim group. However, things are different in the fourth season of Netflix, as Potratz was reintroduced while working for one of the company’s main competitors. The move surprised fans, leaving many wondering why she switched sides.

Why did Davina Potratz leave the Oppenheim group?

While it’s clear that the staff at the Oppenheim Group are all good friends, at the end of the day it’s a business like any other.

With a salary based on commission only, friendships can be broken as the struggle to sell comes first.

However, while the staff clearly love all of their jobs, Potratz made the surprise announcement that she was leaving the company after the season three premiere.

At the start of the new season four, Potratz was working for a rival brokerage firm, although she is still an important part of the series.

One of the main reasons fans assumed Potratz left the show was his inability to sell the infamous $ 75million (£ 56million) estate, although that wasn’t actually the case.

In fact, it appears to be an amicable exit, the star explained in detail in October 2020 when speaking to People.

Potratz said: “I am really excited to be a part of Douglas Elliman and their new, very sophisticated and global development division.

“My background is in the sales and marketing of new developments so this is a wonderful opportunity for me. It’s just very much in tune with my skills.

Douglas Elliman is one of Oppenheim’s main competitors and has offices throughout the United States and abroad.

In season four, however, Potratz opened up about how her time with the rival company was over and she convinced Oppenheim to bring her back to the agency.

Joining Potratz in season four are all the other main agents, including Chrishell Stause, Christine Quinn, Heather Rae Young, Mary Fitzgerald, Maya Vander and the bosses, Jason and Brett Oppenheim.

However, Potratz is not the only squad member who left before season four, with Brett Oppenheim also doing the same.

Viewers speculated there must have been a major rift between him and Jason to drive initially, but according to Maya Vander, that was not the case.

Also speaking to People, Vander explained, “They’re very similar personalities, so they’re still working on some stuff together, I know that for a fact.

“They get along very, very well. There is nothing wrong there. “

Brett started his own solo brokerage firm, but hasn’t released a statement since.

Much of that is covered in season four, with Brett and Potratz’s outings addressed.

The other biggest change in season four is the arrival of new additions to the squad.

This season, Vanessa Villela and Emma Hernan have joined the elite group of real estate agents.

Villela was previously an American-Mexican actress, who decided to mix her acting and business experiences.

Hernan, on the other hand, knows the group well, having already worked for Oppenheim for several years.

Selling Sunset Seasons 1-4 are available to watch exclusively on Netflix.
