Zaijian Jaranilla said he recently broke up with his non-showbiz girlfriend, Dian Añes, after about two years together.

The former child actor made the revelation during the virtual press conference for his upcoming TV series “The Broken Marriage Vow,” as seen on ABS-CBN’s YouTube channel last Thursday, January 13. He was asked about his current relationship status and how he avoids cheating, leading him to admit he is now single.

“Paano ba sasagutin’ yan? Actually wala na. Hindi na ako in a relationship,” he replied. (How can I answer? Actually not anymore. I’m not in a relationship anymore.)

Jaranilla chose not to divulge further details about the split when asked if the pandemic has affected his relationship with Añes, although he did note that the split happened recently.

“Ang hirap pong sagutin niyan,” he said. “Nito lang po, siguro wala pang buwan.” (It’s hard to answer. Just recently, maybe less than a month.)

Despite her breakup, Jaranilla still has a photo with Añes on her Instagram page as of this writing. He posted the picture when he welcomed Añes on her 18th birthday in February last year.

Jaranilla confirmed he was in a relationship in an interview with Boy Abunda for “Tonight with Boy Abunda” in January 2020. At the time, he said he and his girlfriend had been together for a few months. Jaranilla also admitted that his career in show business had been a source of arguments between them, but that they had managed to talk about these issues.

In addition to “The Broken Marriage Vow,” Jaranilla is also set to star in the upcoming “Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV Series,” alongside Jane de Leon, Joshua Garcia, and Iza Calzado. /ra
